The bond between the Porretta Soul Festival and the city of Memphis is consolidated. The Memphis Music Hall of Fame Band, directed by Kurt Clayton (2 Time Grammy Nominated, producer, songwriter arranger and Music Director), will be the house band of the 36th edition of the Porretta Soul Festival which will be held in Porretta Terme, Italy in the Bolognese Apennines from 25 to 28 July 2024. The Memphis Music Hall of Fame Band consists of 11 highly talented and versatile musicians who perform regularly at the Memphis Music Hall of Fame. This band was created to honor and celebrate the great artists who have been inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame, many of whom have contributed significantly to Memphis music and music history in general.

The partnership was born under the aegis of John Doyle Executive Director of the Memphis Music Hall of Fame and the Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum. The Memphis Music Hall of Fame is an institution that celebrates and honors music legends who have contributed to the rich musical legacy of Memphis, Tennessee. This hall of fame is an important tribute to the city of Memphis, which played an integral role in the development of iconic musical genres such as blues, soul and rock’n’roll.

The Memphis Music Hall of Fame was founded to recognize and preserve Memphis’ rich musical heritage. This city has hosted an extraordinary variety of musical talent and helped shape the history of modern music.
