Porretta Soul Museum

testimony of greatest PSF musicians

A museum dedicated to over thirty years of Soul music in Porretta Terme with a path that starts from the posters of the first editions, to the stage clothes donated by many artists who have transformed the spa town, halfway between Bologna and Pistoia, in the European capital of soul music.

Entering one of the typical streets of the historic center you come across the old nineteenth-century prisons, home to the Soul Museum. The recently renovated building is connected to Rufus Thomas Park. The museum collects evidence of the passage through Porretta of the greats of soul, starting with Rufus Thomas, Bobby Rush or Toni Green, whose stage clothes, shoes and other personal objects are preserved. The photographic collection and the audio-video part are very vast.

It is possible to buy books and gadgets in the nearby Tourist Information Office. Recommended “Soul City, Porretta Terme the festival and the music” by Edoardo Fassio Ed.
